ambien does and it's cheap though you must have a rx for it. some of the newer ones do but they are really expensive and most insurance won't cover them. Herbs never worked for me

The only thing that works for me personally is Triamenic(sp?) night time cough and cold a single dose knocks me right out when Nyquil does absolutely nothing!

Zopiclone is very effecive, however recent studies have demonstrantd that it may have a greater addictive pottencial then the hazordousm, and often fatal bendodiapimines.

The Melatonin suggested can be great. Also Valerian root is an herb that works. Both are often less habit forming than rx. Also Benadryl or another antihistamine. They're over the counter. Take them giving yourself enough time for it to go through your system, so I'd suggest one hours before bedtime, and go to sleep when you feel tired, don't fight it, and make sure you have a full eight hours to be able to sleep so you don't wake up still groggy from the drugs.

I use Melatonin you can get it at walmart , cvs, walgreens and food store. Its more natural and you wont feel druged. Melatonin is something we naturally have in our bodies sometimes as we age we lose alil. So you can buy it at the store and get a good nites sleep . Its only about 5 dollars. It is the only natural way to get some sleep and no druggy feeling.

Melatonin never worked for me, as I am a chronic insomniac. Amitriptylene is often prescribed (at least here in Canada) for that, and it is also an anti-depressant. It works fairly well, but you have a bit of hangover-zombie-ism the next morning.

I use Mogadon. They are pretty good. You just have to get the dose right. Too little, don't sleep. Too much, knocked out the next day.

lunesta worked best for me but if you get up before 8 hours you are going to fee llke you got donkeypunched

for what? to get sleep or to get a buzz?

I tried taking sleeping pills a couple of times but did not have good results in one way or the other. When I have sleeping problems, it is usually because I am "overwhelmed" with a million bad things going on at the sametime. So, for me a good ole xanax works like a charm at bedtime. Fortunate for me I only need one once in awhile, so a normal script will last me for a LONG time.

Valerian root is not RX. It's excellent herb for sleep. You can find it in GNC store or online. I purchase mine in Amazon.com for $4.99 (+shipping). I usually get 530 mg. strength.
