  • Take your time and play with things. Know that a page is hard work. I love scrapbooking. Never use the original picture, make a duplicate of the pictures. Some how in my book water condinsation ruined my page had i used an original i wouldn't be able to get that picture back. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!
  • be creative and imaginative in your own way., leave a signature of you. its nice to have your own style. have fun!
  • for some great tips, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on "How to Articles" then enter "scrapbooking" in the search box.
  • I use coloring books to embellish my scrapbooks....they are different, easy to use and the subjects are just about unlimited... and hardly anyone uses coloring books so they will be pretty unique....
  • There is no right way to scrapbook, its all in how you feel. I have been doing it for about 5 years. It is now fun to look back to where I started, I have changed so much, but would never go back and change any thing. I have been asked to do books for different people, but have found I cant unless I'm emotionally involved. Some say you have to journal all details, but I try to let the pictures tell the story. I include dates and who the people are. I also have started doing them in themes, which sometimes can get a little monotous at times, but I want my children to be able to have their own to take. Have fun and I'm sure you will love it!
  • Oh goodness...there's a lot. :) Don't use too much glue or it'll make your pages wrinkled. If you want to put something straight on the page (not artistically tilted), measure it. :) Be creative, play around with the position of things. Write down your memories, because you'll probably forget them down the line. Other than that, good luck and have fun!!!!!
  • Yes enjoy yourself and every minute of it :) Remember there is no right or wrong in a scrapbook its all about individuality so your scrapbook will look great !
  • Scrapbooking is a great way to preserve your family memories. One thing that was shared with me when I started scrapbooking was to be sure and journal the details of the event you're highlighting. Write down who, what, where, when, and special things that happened that day. Over time, you'll discover your very own style. Try out different types of albums too for fun. I always keep a family album going, but I'm also working on my wedding album and an album for each of my girls (just their first year). Another fun album idea is an ABC album for young children. My girls are now 6 and 9 and they still look at their ABC albums. We even added a few things recently to update them a bit. Hope you enjoy scrapbooking! http://www.ehow.com/how_4544349_abc-scrapbook-photo-album-children.html Sincerely, Susan
  • Get a Cricut - you will not regret it...well, maybe your pocketbook will. A few years ago, I got one because I do the instore contest posters. I started making greeting cards and thought I'd do ONE page, and if I hated it, I'd just strip off the pictures and forget about it. As it turned out - I LOVED IT! It is SO much fun, but expensive. I've gotten most of my cartriges off of ebay and you can save about 40 bucks off of there, although I've heard that they are cutting the price of the cartriges soon. I have both the Expression and the original Cricut. I suggest getting the little one first as the big one is a pretty major investment...although, I don't really use my little one anymore.
  • Scrap booking glues work great for adhering paper to paper just as a background mat to the scrapbook page. Craft glues also work well for adhering die cuts or punch outs. Glues with a fine tip - such as the EK Success Two-Way Glue - Fine Tip - can easily put one drop on a small item so it can be placed on your scrapbook page without making a mess with the excess glue! And there is even a metal glue to adhere metal to your scrapbook pages. TIP: Do not put a page protector on your page for 24 hours after using any kind of craft glue. Paper Adhesives include the photo mounting squares, double-sided tapes, the popular Hermafix dispenser and refills and pop-up squares for creating dimension on your scrapbook pages. Photo Corners are perfect for heritage albums or for a fun look on newer photographs. They are also great if you think you may need to remove the picture from the scrapbook album in the future.
