Would it be a good idea for the government to shut down all major fast food chains in order to help with the obesity crisis? Would it be possible for them to? Aside from the workers losing their job, what is there to lose?

Freedom. Which is not acceptable. While it may be fattening or bad for you, it's each individuals choice to eat there or not.

It's not the food. It's the choices people make. Exactly where would this end? There's almost no food outlet on earth that doesn't offer temptation. Should we close those down too? Besides which, just about every fast food chain now offers healthy alternatives. People just have to decide to choose them. We need more personal responsibility/accountability in this world. The last thing we need is less;)

There would be a public outrage if McDonalds shut down!! Burger King too!! More businesses helps our economy out. People benefits from fast food- young teenage workers can earn money. Fast food restaurants can earn money. People looking for a cheap and fast food would have nowhere to go!! Gas prices are soaring- people should eb able to afford cheap food. Don't blame fast food restaurants for the obesity crisis in the US! Blame the parents and the child's decision to eat fatty foods.
