Just looking around on Answerbag it seems that everyone in the world except me breds rabbits. Are really that many people in the rabbit breding business? Are they for pets or food?

They make very nice pets. I've eaten them too but I keep them as pets.

Moat people on AB that come asking rabbit questions do not know much about rabbits. That's why they are asking. They get them as pets, keep them together because some guy at the pet store or their friend tells them they are both girls. Then they have an unplanned litter and the doe is eating the babies and it gets worse and worse. Most of the people who come to AB are pet owners of rabbits. They do make wonderful pets. They are quiet, don't take much training, easy to groom, no baths, easy to feed. And they are also good eating. I've raised rabbits for 40 years, have had a large rabbitry both or pets and for the meat. But I bet no more than 5% of the people here are planning to eat their rabbits. LOL!
