  • So you tuned your guitar down a half step and played in E? Yes, your friend was right - it would have been much easier to use a capo on the first fret and played the song in D. Why do you need a website? It's a simple matter of transposition. Maybe I don't understand your question.

  • The capo option is probably the most logical. I personally don't use them. I bar the first fret and play in D as if my index were the capo or I shift to a position higher up the fretboard. The retuning option is not a bad idea either. I have 6 guitars, each with its own scale and tuning and use the one that suits the tone I'm looking for at the time. Only one of my guitars is tuned to standard.
