I'm thinking of painting my room white & "lime pop" green. IF I do use two colours, should I paint the same colour on opposite walls or adjacent walls?

It depends on the look you're trying to achieve. If you go to Sherwin-Williams.com, you can use their color visualizer (under Tools and Inspiration or something like that) to paint a room similar to your layout and see what you think about the different effects.
