Never underestimate the value of hypocrisy! If we admitted how lazy and sinful we are, we'd set a horrible example for the rest of us. Also, if God is going to be as awful to us as he was to his own Son, I'd bet on looking busy.

What the quote you are referring to is saying, and I will complete the quote,"keep busy in the work of he Lord", is that we should be doing what Jesus asked us to do. By keeping busy in the work of the Lord, it means to be following the command he gave to his apostles, that command being, go forth teaching the nations of the good news of Gods Kingdom. And that by the way includes about his second coming and the end of the current system of religions and governments and the establishment of Gods 1000 year rule by his Son Jesus. A lot of work to be doing as the Bible says to that the "good news of Gods Kingdom will be preached throughout all the inhabited earth and then the end will come" So yes we need to be busy in the work of the Lord when he arrives showing that we at least gave our best efforts in this way our hope is that we "may be saved at the time of the great day of God Almighty" that day being Armageddon. Since these are indeed "the last days", it may help if you read 2Timothy 3:1-5 and Matthew Chapters 24 and 25 as well as the books of Daniel and Revelation. read Proverbs..tells about lazy, slothful, sleep loving people..we should be grateful for jobs,glad we can work... work for boss (no matter how bad) as if he were God!!! work till Jesus comes.... better look busy and don't look back!!!but most important make sure our "hearts are right". be ready...
