• I do not recall anyone asking when we start needing Jesus! The question was do we believe we are born without sin? Since it requires a knowledge of good and evil, or right and wrong, if you will, it is impossible for a baby to sin until they know right from wrong for themselves. whew4

• According to LDS theology, acceptance of Christ is only necessary for salvation in the celestial kingdom after a person sins. However, were it not for the atonement and resurrection of Christ, no one else would be resurrected, so Christ's sacrifice was necessary for all--even children--to be saved.

• I can be unforgiven (not believe in Christ) and still live in heaven... just not in the Celestial Glory?

• John I think they are confusing themselves in there own theology. We can see where this is going to go, and I hope they see that it can't be possible to believe both. (in Christ and the LDS church's teachings)

• John: yes--according to LDS doctrine, hell is temporary, not permanent. The wicked will eventually leave hell and live in heaven, but not in Celestial Glory. Even those who accept and believe in Christ may also endure hell and not end up in the celestial kingdon if they are not faithful to Christ's commandments.

• LDS believe you have to be Mormon to dwell with God, that is the only way, is that correct?

• If that is the case and I know they teach it, then the bible is not correct, because Jesus told Joseph Smith? So Joseph hears from God and translates it correctly and now the only way to dwell with God is to:
  Obey the commandments
  Attend the Temple
  Be sealed in the Temple for all enernity
  Be baptized in his name (Jesus')
  I know I'm missing some.

• When I mean dwell, to reach the highest glory of heaven is what I mean. But the only way to do that is be LDS, correct?

• According to LDS doctrine, the requirements for salvation are considerably more lengthy than that. See, for example:

  Obey the Word of Wisdom, Search out our kindred dead and perform the saving ordinances of the gospel for them, Keep the Sabbath day holy, Attend our Church meetings as regularly as possible so we can renew our baptismal covenants by partaking of the sacrament, Love our family members and strengthen them in the ways of the Lord, Have family and individual prayers every day, Honor our parents, Teach the gospel to others by word and example, Study the scriptures, Listen to and obey the inspired words of the prophets of the Lord, etc.

• According to LDS doctrine, the only way to reach the highest glory of heaven is to be baptized (and receive other ordinances) by those who have the proper authority, either in this life or the next. Also according to LDS doctrine, the only people in this life who have the proper authority are members of the LDS church. Therefore, your only chance for exaltation is to be a Mormon in this life, or wait until the next life.

• And you believe that? Just wondering because I thought it was as simple as believing in Jesus Christ. I guess someone had to come along and change things the way they wanted it to be.

• It is apparent from Christ's sermens in the Bible that He expected his followers to do more than just believe in him. Otherwise why would He go through all the effort to tell us the way we should live our lives if it doesn't matter?

• Jesus showed all of us how we should live our lives, and God told us in the Old Testament to follow the Ten Commandmentsfor salvation to recieve eternal glory. But it turned out to be too big of a burden. So Christ gave his body as a sacrifice so that when we call upon his name with our mouth, and believe with our hearts that he is our redeemer, then we acquire eternal life.

• We need Jesus in our lives from the time of conception, until we are safely dead. But Jesus is much more to us than just one who has died for our sins. He is our advocate with the Father as well, and much more. whew4

• Jesus is My Savior, My Eternal High Priest, My Mediator, My Redeemer...
  
  Jesus is My God.
  
  In LDS teachings, Jesus's sacrifice only enables people to get to heaven. It is up to them to earn their place. Given that ALL people go to heaven(in LDS doctrine) (whether in spirit prison or one of the other 3 levels of glory)... regardless of what they have done, what they do is the true measure of their salvation. I have not found this anywhere in the Bible.
