Question

Help answer this question below.

I received a parking violation for stopping at a bus stop in California. I was in the car, and it was actually in a red zone, NEAR the bus stop. The ticket I got is for $250 but should only be for $50. What is the best way to fight this?

Make photo's that illustrate the difference between the bus zone and the red zone, and make a diagram so that you can quickly and graphically present your case in traffic court. Do you have any witnesses beside the traffic cop about where you were stopped? That would help.

This is why everyone should carry a disposable camera in their car -- were you able to take a picture at the moment the traffic cop was writing you up, you'd have proof of where you were stopped.
