I never like web interfaces. They never are easy to read, they are always limited in their fonts and functions, and they have a small storage limit. I always use an email program on my computer and configure it to download emails onto my computer. That way I have a full featured email program, and I have unlimited storage ability.

Yahoo mail is my choice. I have semi active accounts on hotmail and gmail but... I ditched hotmail years ago because of spam (might not be an issue now). However, hotmail/live just doesn't like to play nice with browsers other than IE -- especially on a mac. I'm not a mac zealot, but that's a show stopper for me. Forgive me if I want to check my email from my "other" pc. gmail? Some people love it. I just don't get it. Being tied to my ISP? No way. At some point, you're going to move or switch ISP or .... Are you sure you tried yahoos mail? A fat client it is not. But its web interface is pretty damn good. Good luck.

I have never used Verizon's email in the five years they've been my DSL provider. I'm happy with GMail!

Recommend looking at the titles of email waiting on your ISP's server before your email client downloads it. That way you are your own last-ditch spam filter.

I much prefer having my mail all come to me through my ISP so I don't have to be online and I can save and do my mail all right in one place and no worries. But I also use Bigfoot, which is a mail forwarding service, so you can use one email account and it can be sent anywhere, your personal account, to a gmail or hotmail account, anywhere, and it's permanent and for life! Doesn't get better than that. So all I have to do is go online and tell them where to send it. So I use that and I have a gmail account for use here.

I like to use Outlook. Right now I have to go to the provider's website as the laptop that I have setup for Email is down. I'm on a backup that doesn't have Outlook installed.
