My hubby has worked for the same company for over 5 years now and has good benefits and pay and his 401K. problem is they are always threatening to close and having voluntary layoffs. They have taken his hours down to 28 hours from 40 just recently. He has an interview today for a wal mart DC job which is not in any way closing soon or in the near future. They have great pay and benefits also. Should he take the new job or stick it out with the old, just in case? Where he works now is a major transportation company but he works in a branch off of that company. Thanks

My husband was going through close to the same thing. We are parents, and the constant threat of not having security was driving us crazy. He shopped for more offers and was ready to leave his current company, with another job lined up, even with a pay cut, because we were afraid. They then invested in a new building and he decided to stay put. (His threat was a transfer clear across the country.) Truthfully, based on what you said, I would want the security and change jobs. If they hadn't done what they did and made a definite decision, he would have left.
