Why not? They know the world won't come to an end if they wear them. They probably enjoy the sun and the water just like everyone else. They may enjoy the way they look and feel at the beach as others may. And they may love the idea of getting an all over tan as much as possible. Even larger bodies look better with a tan.

Either they want the world to see them the way they are, they love themselves despite their weight issues which is a good thing, or they don't realize that they are as fat as they are. Either way......most people could probably care less.
