  • Stretching your arms out before engaging in any strenuous activity will help a lot. I like to press the tips of my fingers into the palm of my hand and bend them back slowly to stretch the muscles in your forearm. If you type a lot, try to keep your hand straight to your wrist. Keeping your wrists bent for an extended period of time really hurts my arms/wrists. I play multiple instruments and spend a lot of time on the computer.It seems like my whole life is based on avoiding this kind of problem!
  • My husband had it many years ago quite severely and with wearing a FIRM brace for one year and some manipulations by the chiropractor and some exercises, it's completely gone. And after that me became a Massage Therapist and learned some exercises and positions to help heal it. SO far, most of the people I know that used an alternative method have gotten along better than all those that chose the surgery route. Here are two sites that have some exercises. I've used the ones on the first page and the table ones on the second page or variations of those. They are good to do before as a preventative, too. They know a lot and can really help you get over it. You could also try something called EFT, which is really good for pain issues, especially if they come from stress or emotional issues, even allergies. At this website you can download a manual that will explain doing EFT on yourself. http://emofree.com/ This is how I've been getting rid of occasional flareups of my numbness. 2-3 minutes and it's gone:-) If you have any other problems, please look into EFT.
