One treats me like a kid, the other a friend. Guess which one I'm closer to?
-
The sad truth is my mother still wants to be a mother which I do not need at the age of 32.
-
more like my mentor than a friend,,,,she still jumps my butt when she thinks i am screwing up lol but not as a child anymore

My dad treats me like I'm fourteen. I had to break it to him that I was going to be twenty seven this year. He argued with me and said I would only be twenty three. He actually called my step-mom to ask her.

My parents always treated me like a big girl.

Like an adult, but they have a hard time getting over the "reminding" me to do things part of it all.

My mother is my best friend but still gives the best and most wise advice. My dad has gotten more protective as HE has gotten older. I love them both dearly.

They play asstag with me now more than ever! :(

My mom still treats me mostly as a kid, but sometimes as a friend. My dad usually a friend. Funny thing. They have three kids, me being the youngest. My dad is a Democrat, and me, well, not. I am the only one who took an interest in politics, and man does he like to debate, argue, and discuss the issues with me. When done, we have a nice meal together. I ran for councilman here a few times, and though I am not in his district, I wonder if he would have voted for me. I don't think he would have, and I wouldn't want him to if he doesn't agree with the issues I stand for.

I'm at the age now where I have to take care of my folks a little more. However my mom always tries to give me food as I walk out the door. Lasagna, Manicotti, Chicken Parm, etc.

Like a kid. But it's a very natural tendency. To my mother I'm always going to be a kid, even when I have kids of my own. A friend of mine, who's about in his 30's, a 4th dan black black belt, his mother still tells him to button up his coat in the cold. It's funny because he's such a big strong dude and his mother is a little thing.
