  • i doubt it. first, it is very difficult to determine where lightning actually strikes, unless it does damage. also, lightning is just positive and negative charges meeting in a very explosive way. every object sends up little streamers of charge that will attract oppositely charged particles in the clouds. you have lightning when the charges meet. the odds of this happening are increased with the height and size of the object on the ground. since gold is buried underground, it seems unlikely that lightning would specifically find its way to a mine.
  • So now you have a good explanation on how lightening works. Now about the gold mines, they are usually located deep within mountains thus lightening will never reach them and of course will not help anyone to find them. Best regards.
