  • all you need is a work permit, they cost about £150 to be considered for one, so they could take your money and still not give you a permit. as far as i know its fairly easy for someone not English to get a job here, in fact probably easier cos the English are getting a bad reputation as being lazy workers(sad but true). i have met a few south Africans over here that are working, its a nice to get immigrants that actually speak good English cos at the moment there's loads of Polish workers here cos with an EU passport you dont even need a permit, you just turn up at an agency and they give you work. so you'll probably get a fairly good reception from English people you meet. agencies prefer immigrants because their more likely to actually seriously want a job(moving several hundred/thousand miles is a bold statement) English applicants from the job center go to the bottom of the pile cos they're more likely just trying to scam their benefits and aren't really that interested(again sad but true) check this site. http://www.transitionsabroad.com/publications/magazine/0501/working_in_the_uk.shtml
