I've had meat killed one day and hours later eaten. But some meats are actually better after being aged for awhile, sometimes for weeks.

Oh yeah! It's the best. I've pet my dinner more than once! We like pork or venison killed the same day. I like my beef aged, and I've walked the cow into a stall that it didn't walk out of.

I've had meat that was killed, gutted, skinned, butchered, and cooked.

I've caught a fish and ate it, raw, less than 5 minutes later. It's hard to top that. But never with red meat.
