You cannot base your own self-esteem on the perception of others. If people don't like you, it may be because you are very shy and find it difficult to communicate..or they could be jealous for one reason or another..or perhaps they don't understand you because you are not like them and have your own opinions about things..some people are only comfortable being with people who always see things their way, always agree. It makes them feel better about themselves. If you try to be helpful, kind, accepting and friendly, then I don't see how you wouldn't like yourself. The valuable people will see who you are and seek you out. As for the others, you don't want them in your life anyway, do you? Happy Thursday, Elinor! :)
