Help answer this question below.

There are 77 women and 33 men on the train. Every woman has a cat and every other man has a dog. Every other cat has a kitten and every other dog has 2 puppies. Men that do not have a dog, have a chicken. How many legs? (every other: except the 1st)

    77 women = 154 legs
    33 men = 66 legs
    77 cats = 308 legs
    16 dogs = 64 legs
    38 kittens = 152 legs
    16 puppies = 64 legs
    17 chickens = 34 legs

    = 842 legs

    Not sure what you mean by "except the 1st" though.
