  • Might be a little too late, their woes started in the late 70's when foreign car makers would slowing get a foothold here with more economical/better quality/less expensive vehicles and we sat twiddling our thumbs producing the same cars not believing they were a threat, might be too late now to reverse the trend no matter how great a car we produce, I don't think any total car is made in America anymore anyway!
  • Hello Koz! I am certainly not an expert in economics or the automotive industry, but I think the US auto industry set themselves up to fail as they continually blocked efforts to explore alternative fuel usage. I think that would have been key to competing with the foreign companies economy cars. And I agree with Raddman: How can an automobile be called American when many of the bits and pieces are made and assembled out of the country?
