It's the smart guess if you are positive that everyone else is above the right price.
I would say something like $37.
But they do that because they know all the others have over bid.
I saw a lady on the Price is Right once bid one dollar under what somebody else had bid. So unless she got the price exact, she wasn`t going to win. It takes all sorts on that show.
Because they have no imagination.
It makes no sense at all.

They do that when they feel that all of the other bids are waaaaay too expensive. If you go over the price on that show, your disqualified and you don't get a shot.
They think everyone else has overbid, so they want the lowest possible bid, to guarantee they do not overbid
they are trying to be a smart azz buy bidding the lowest

You're reading On The Price Is Right, why do people bid $1? All of the products on the show are higher than that, so why bid so low?
