I am mailing 100 +/- pieces in a #10 envelope. They are 2 page ads for my business. Do I HAVE to seal the envelope? Or, can I tuck the flap inside and avoid licking?

I'd seal them. The post office is completely automated and the chances are pretty good that the machinery will tear up your envelopes.

I seems like you would want to do what you can to keep the pieces inside the envelope and not lose them. Money is money, after all. How about a compromise? Instead of licking, get a sponge and wet it, then swipe it across the glue on the flap. Then you don't have to worry about your tongue catching lint :)

You can use tape as an alternative. The sponge thing works too, but tapping goes faster. I used to process bulk mail, and there was no way I was going to have enough spit to get the envelopes sealed! Good lick, er I mean luck, and I hope your endeavor brings you lots of business!
