  • A mosquito only bites before she lays her eggs and then later dies. If you have been bitten more than once, it is likely to be more that one mosquito. Try wrapping up your arms, legs and neck in the early evening (when they are more likely to bite), and sleeping with a fan blowing (they find it hard to fly in wind). I lived in Zimbabwe for a number of years, and I did not need the use of pesticides or other chemicals. If however you have 3+ bites along the arm / leg, and you woke up with them, it could be down to a bed bug (Cimex lectularius / Cimex hemipterus in tropical regions - even Florida). You do not feel them while they bite due to a natural anaesthetic in their saliva. Hope this helps.
