Why do guys like to scare girls while watching scary movies?

lol, maybe they want the girls to seize them firmly due to scared. He must like the girl, he is creating chance to get close to the girl. Maybe they think they are reliable to girls when meet difficulty.

My boyfriend gets a kick out of it-when it actually WORKS, ha ha. But I'm not sure why, maybe they think it's funny. Guess I would have to ask him.

lol, guys do that in order to tease the girl that he likes. he is just using that opportunity in order to get closer to her and to get a quick laugh just to break the ice. The guy also wants a chance for the girl to hold him out of fear. Trust me it works lmao :D

They like girls to jump so that they can cuddle into them without looking like the guy put his arm around her being cheesy!

It is fun, for hearing girls scream is GREAT! Also, consider the guy/girl ratio of screamers in horror movies, and you will see what I mean. Also, making them scared makes them clingy, and that is a win-win scenario!
