  • and be good? I mean he did so much with Noah what is to stop him from appearing to each person of this world individually and say, "be good or burn!" I mean he is God, right?
  • Read the text. Almost all men had turned their backs on God. Can you imagine ANYTHING that would make atheists today suddenly start believing in God? Even if they had to admit His existence, many have already expressed their hatred for Him and all He stands for. Why would ancient atheists be any different?
  • God did appear to some people before the flood, notably Adam and Eve, but the pattern that he established is one of prophets. Because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, mankind was separated from God because of transgression (going contrary to God's word / law) and sin (related more to moral law.) For God to appear to anyone, I suspect it would require sufficient faith in him and the promised Son of God to overcome the consequence of the Fall. Not wanting to leave his children completely to themselves, God sent angels and called prophets to preach faith and repentance to the people, Noah included. The scriptures say that those who received the prophets received him, and those who reject the prophets he sends reject him. The scriptures are full of them, and there is no reason to believe he does not follow the same pattern today. Someday we will all see his face for judgment, but for those who hear the words of the prophets and have faith on the Son of God, it is possible that it could happen earlier.
  • The same reason there is only one president or one leader of a nation. It unifies the message, authority and the objective. If the message is not unify from one source, everyone WILL follow their desires and chaos will develops. This is simply logic.
  • I imagine that it's much easier to just kill them all.
  • The bible says that Noah was a preacher so he obviously spoke to people and tried to warm them but they only ridiculed him and said, it had never rained and it wouldn't rain. So they didn't believe. It has never mattered when God or Jesus made a visible presence and told people something. They would still just do what they wanted to. You either want to do good or you don't. People use their free will as they choose. regardless of personal visitations or not.
  • here is something to wrapp your mind around you have someone sitting in a chair talking to something we cant see and he is claiming the voices are telling him to tell everyone they are evil and have to see the light before its to late ok now you have someone on stage talking in tongues claiming to have signs from another deminsion saying he is the messenger of something greater and that those that want to go there have to follow him now here is the question which one has the faith and talking about gods messenger talking to him and which one is crazy and feeding us with lies we are able to bealeve an elderly person talking about having signs from god but the second a younger person does the same thing we tend to start to question his messenge and motive on top of it thanks the iron man
  • First are we creating limitation's on what God can and cannot do? Do we have a logical sequence in which we follow to answer these questions? God cannot be placed in a box. We know that God appeared to Adam, and to Enoch, and then Noah. In the New Testament Lazarus wanted a drop of water on his tounge but father Abraham could not go through the sphere to reach him. Man sins and has cut God off. For God to go to Man that sins means death. God is perfect, anyone that is not perfect will die upon coming across His presense. If God could warn people he would, so he sent a representative to warn every person on earth. But people scoffed and laughted at Noah. Everyone had a chance if they would just listen. But they were busy marying and being married, making deals and business as usual. They did not have time to listen to a man of God. Why should they? They were doing as they pleased and as they wanted. No person was thinking of the longer term of eternity but the hear and now. So the pleasures and lusts of this world were what they wanted and that is what they received. As a father disciplines his children God will discipline his children. When there is a disease that becomes an epidemic do you want to control the disease or let it spread? I would want to control the disease. People are warned! Noah is out preaching the good word. Everyone had a choice to listen or not to listen. Everyone had a choice to choose or not to choose. There was canabolism and every wicked form of life created by man. Injuries created between one man and another were proven in archeological history. These men were lawless. The commonality and living descently was out of order. If they scoffed, made jokes and were joking and thought very little of what was being said by Noah then they were doing away with the person that was giving them warning! So the mission is done! Everyone is being warned if they would listen. My question is who will listen to the gospel today? Do you have time to set aside to talk to God and read his word? Are you going to seek the truth with all your heart, mind, and soul? God created a design for all of us, but will we do the justice of listening and taking into consideration the question, what is truth? I know that is what I'm going to do! What about you?
  • He DID try! Noah was the only one who listened.
  • God also made sure Noah was one of the few people in the world who paid attention in class and knew what a dang "cubit" was. Think about THAT! :-)
  • Why should we need God to tell us to be nice to each other? Why can't we just be nice to each other? To say we need God to make us do something is to admit that we do need God and we can't make it on our own. Perhaps that is the point He is trying to make. Who knows?
  • God seems to be a very selective dude in whom he speaks to, whom he saves, whom he damns, what he does, etc.
  • He didn't need to, he had his messengers, Noah and his family, tell others. If those people refused to listen, then they would be destroyed. They didn't listen. They never showed any concern, since the Jesus said they just continued douing what they always had, eating and drinking, and marrying, everyday things, not all bad people, just not wanting to listen to God or change what they wre doing wrong. God has always warned people and those that care enough to listen and follow the instructions, get protection. If Adam and Eve who saaw God personally weren't convinced to obey, what makes you think that showing himself to every person would change. It took faith and trust for people to obey either way.
  • " God's costant availability is very limited!!!God can only do so much for the wold an the Human race that's why there's a lot of Angels that reighn but even Angels can do so much as well!! It's just too, much to take care of all at once!!!"
  • I think you're taking the Bible too literally and seriously...
  • Uh, no, that would have been too easy and would have killed the story. I mean, like couldn't it have been easier if in Snowhite somebody killed the witch before she could give her the apple? Well, sure, then there would have been no story. Same here
  • Noah didnt manage all the animals by himself. God's presence was there and he directed them into the ark. Also, God wanted people to come to Him out of faith. Faith is things felt but which have not been seen.
