Your sitting in the middle of a row in a movie theater. When you get up do you face the people as you nudge to the aisle or do turn your back to them

First of all I try to sit on an end so I don't have to get out of the middle of the row. If, inevitably, I have to get up and squeeze past people, I usually turn my back to them.

I've never given it any thought. Putting myself in the place of the person sitting, watching the movie; I just want them out of the way and try to enjoy what I can of the movie before they come back to climb over me again. When I'm the climber, I try to get out of the way as quickly and painlessly as possible.

I face them so that I can try not to pump into them as best as I can.

I try to face them so they don't get my butt right in their face. That's what I would prefer, were the situation reversed.
