After doing a little digging, according to www.imdb.com, John Travolta had a small part in a couple of 1972 episodes of "Emergency". This would probably qualify as his "first TV" role.
"Welcome back Kotter" a TV series.
Vinnie Barbarino in "Welcome Back Kotter."
the first that I know of was Vinny Barbarino on "Welcome Back Kotter..."
Devil's Rain was Travolta's film debut. With William Shatner, Ernest Borgnine, Eddie Albert, and Ida Lupino. Shot in 1975 and directed by Robert Feust. And I believe his first TV role was "Welcome Back, Kotter". All this info from travolta.com
At that time I did not know about The Devil's Rain. I do remember that Welcome Back Kotter was on one year, was off for one or two years and then came back. The first show in the first year was the same as the first show in it's second year, with one or two years in between. To me, there is the possibility that The Devil's Rain was in between the first two tv years, was it AuntieEm?
I think it was maybe Saturday night fever? idk!
"The Devil's Rain," appeared in Emergency and Owen Marshall and TV commercials, plus early stage career from age of 12. Kotter was later! From KJJ.
