We are cautioned that 'All that gistens is not gold' because, very like Jackdaws (I think that's the American term for crows) we tend to covet shiny things. We have an incredible fascination with glinting objects, so shimmering lips will naturally attract us. It's the same with spangly outfits. And the wearer could be Svetlana (Russian name, meaning bright or shining), which would doubly attract the beholder. Especially if that was all she was wearing.
