If your state records height and weight on your driver's license you can use that.

I don't know if they would accept these, but here are some ideas to try. It all comes down to getting Aetna to accept it. 1) driver's license (assuming it was issued at least 2 years ago and has your weight listed) 2) photos 3) notorized statements from friends or colleagues saying you have been obese for more than 2 years I would call the support number you have for Aetna and ask them what would qualify as proof. If they state doctors offices, I would hold firm to your ground that there must be other ways and possibly make some of these suggestions. Hopefully the customer rep will forward you or your idea into someone with authority. Good luck.

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is a sign that you should seek an answer some where else. Besides surgery. Challenge your self to find some empowering meaning out of this situation. you've got a great community with a plethora of tools. I'm certain you have people who love you dearly. I think the universe is talking to you!

Hi, I would suggest you not to go for a surgery when you can put your heart into exercising. Its only a matter of 10 days that you can start feeling lighter provided you exercise and eat healthy food. One way I would suggest is learn Pranayama which is a type of breathing exercise and there are 9 different ways of pranayama. There is a yoga ashram in India which is named Siddha Samadhi Yoga (ssy) which would teach you pranayama and also they would give you excellent raw food which would bring your weight down and make you feel very healthy. What pranayama does is , it cleans your body internally first , there is a lot of unwanted stuff which resides in our cells and make us heavy. So it cleans us from inside and trust me the food habbits will make your skin glow and make you feel lighter. Its just a one month process in which you can learn a lot on how to stay healthy. I was weiging around 100-102 kilograms i.e around 224 pounds and i surprising lost 20 kgs i.e around 44 pounds in just 15 days. I would not say that the rate at which you would loose ight is the same as mine, but yeah you can def become healthier than ever.

If you're heavy enough to be considering surgery, you should have been seeing a doctor all along to try to manage your weight in a less drastic, invasive way. I would say start talking to your doctor now about your weight and any related health risks, and then develop a workable diet and exercise plan together, and see how it goes. If, two years down the road, you're still heavy enough to need surgery, then you'll have the recorded medical history for your insurance to cover it. Diet and exercise is a lot of hard work, but it is a better weight loss plan than surgery, both physically and psychologically.

Maggie, If you've ever joined Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutri-System, etc. they can provide you with your weight records as proof of your past weight. My daughter and I both had Lap Band surgery in spring of 2003 and we have lost 130 & 90 lbs. respectively. There hasn't been a day since that I haven't thanked my lucky stars that I took that leap and did the surgery. I applaud your efforts and determination. Be really, really certain you are willing to do the work though...Lap Band surgery is NOT taking the easy way out. It is NOT for wimps! It requires a tremendous amount of hard work and committment on your part. Keep trying to find ways to show proof of bast obesity. It could be worse...they could be asking for proof of every diet/weight loss method/exercise program you've ever been on. Even if you don't go to the doctor for regular annual physicals ANY doctor would weigh you every time to set foot in their office. Can you not get ahold of any of those records of your weight? Or are you one of those lucky people who just never, ever get sick or have the need for a doctor? Good luck to you!
