I love color and sparkle but each one has their own specialness. And when they are combined, it can be really beautiful. And I can't forget some of the more simpler stones like moonstones, opals, jade, coral, lapis and turquoise.

Among the choices you've listed, none of them. I prefer the fire opal..it is breaktakingly beautiful in my opinion..some of them look incredibly other-worldly..besides, the opal is my birthstone! :)

When I was in the Navy a friend of mine borrowed $10,000 from the Navy Credit Union to purchase precious stones in Korea. He bought uncut gems of many kinds to bring back to the states to have a friend of his who was a jeweler back in his home town to cut, polish, and mount (set). For some reason, no diamonds could be bought in Korea at that time but he still had a leather bag the size of a thick paperback book full of rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc. I was discharged before he completed the deal with his friend and have always wondered how much profit the two of them turned after doing the work on the stones and selling them.

not really you are mostly wrong..and you don't trust what you get and most of it is scary and hard to understand..the best part is you can get a sense of people that are so tender hearted and you know they can do great things.. it's just a feeling aboout some people ..kinda rare..I hope I don't seem like a weirdo. I definitely am not..I just have to tell you ,you are special..I got in trouble on this site testing my abilities..too much too soon.Sorry I ramble on. PS petitgrain ...if you can't find petitgrain use orange essence it won't be as potent but it's better than nothing...boil it and inhale it will clear your mind and give you protection

rubies are only colour-changed sapphires, but i prefer alexandrite by far.
alexandrite is more expensive than all of them, but it changes colour to compliment everyone, and catches the light :)
