One blog and two journals so far. :) For me, started with a diary that was in a locked wooden box when I was a kid. After that, years of journals now and again .. usually just regular notebooks with the metal coil binding. (still have them) lol Over the last ten years or so, my computer joined the ranks. So fast to use a keyboard! Do lots of free writing that way - and in last 4 yrs or so - lots of "life story writing". Create MS Word docs then tuck those into topical folders. Ditto those from interviewing my mother, then writing up "her" memories .. some great tales there. :) But I've usually got several hold in your hand journals going too. Have learned to look for acid-free pages and love those Moleskine journals. Used to just mishmosh everything into one journal. Now, I've begun to have separate ones for different life areas .. like travel journal .. ideas and brainstorming ... personal journaling .. projects journal. Use larger sized journals now too. Hard cover from office supply store with graph paper pages vs lines. Also like artist spiral bound 9x12 books .. plain pages .. heavier paper .. still acid-free .. where I can brainstorm, cluster diagram, adhere stickers or scans of things, etc. Shoot - give me paper and pen - and I'll use it! Yellow pads and gel pens! My fountain pen for special times. My keyboard. It's all good! Anyone else? Do you write or journal and if so, in or on what? :)

I have a journal that I handwrite in. I've had it for AGES, the cover is coming off, it's been splashed with water and coffee, and there's lipstick smears in it. Anything goes in there, poems, articles, emotional vomit, drawings, notes, lists, phone numbers, magic spells, (I'm serious. XD) addresses, thoughts, dreams, drawing and ''information'' about the places and things in my dreams, video game stuff, even some stories. I'm the cleanest and most organized person ever, except for that journal. Some people have tried to get me to get rid of it and start a new one because this one looks like it survived a fistfight against Beelzebub, one person even got me a new one for my birthday last year, but I just can't put it away (I'm NOT throwing it away.) until all the pages are either filled or fall out. And some are getting there.

I keep a day to day journal which was a blank-paged book given to me as a gift. I like the physicality of it when I'm not sure what I want to write about. If I'm writing an article (I'm a freelance journalist), I always write on the computer because of speed and the ability to cut and paste. I still need to print out several copies to read it over though. I'm not really sure why, it just seems to be more real that way. Some creative writing I do on the computer because I'm less likely to lose it (although I have managed that!). My father was a writer and after he died we cleared out his tiny study - and found literally hundreds of notebooks with jotted down plot and character ideas. A real goldmine!
