  • At that age, I would tend to believe that it is either a bushing or, more likely, the lubrication in that bushing. While either could technically be done at home, they are easier to just take have done at the garage. Lubrication is quick and therefore cheap and replacing a bushing requires (at least) a press. You'll find the mechanic's fees a small price to pay to avoid the aggravation on that one and you also won't risk screwing up your alignment; the garage will reset it for you.
  • Is it a squeak or a click? how many miles on your vehicle? Front wheel drive vehicles are notorious for axle problems. this is most noticed when you turn a corner and apply the brakes. if not corrected, the axle will separate and cause the wheel to disengage from the front suspension. I would take no chances, especially if you do interstate driving. See a qualified mechanic and have it investigated.
