  • no, the whole 18 thing isnt so much about the age as it is the MENTALITY of those under 18. Your brain isnt even fully grown until 21, so they want to make sure that they can make responsible decisions in the dating world.
  • In qualitative terms it means that age doesn't always matter and conversely, age matters sometimes. IMO for the statement, "Age matters" to be true without any qualifying conditions, such as "sometimes", it has to be true under all implied circumstances.
  • If you're trying to get into a definitional/logical argument with someone, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong site. We live in reality, theorems and rhetorical arguments about logic rarely apply to the world we live in. The truth, some people are never mentally capable of handling certain relationships with certain people. The majority of people under the age of 18 (learned through the help of the hard and soft sciences)are not emotionally or physically developed enough to be in a relationship that an older person would require. This will not apply to everyone. The law however, is another factor. Your argument has no point. The statement itself, "that age doesn't matter" isn't proven nor accepted by everyone. So who cares.
