Isn't the point of AB to seek input for questions for which one lacks an answer? If that is the point, then building up a score is meaningless drivel for the little people.

Nah. The dynamic would be different. But I hear that AB thrived well before the points system, and I am sure it will do very well with all future site changes. The networking of friends and the Q+A is what comes first, I think.
