the weight of the laptop has absolutely no bearing on how durable it is. what make or model is it? that would be a lot more usefull to determine how much of a battering it can take if you want a laptop that will take a lot of knocks get a Panasonic Toughbook they're designed to be as indestructible as possible, most other laptops are just designed to be as cheap to make as possible so are less durable
