Geological time is the concept of imagining time on the scales of, say, a mountain. Its about changing your perception of time to the much longer time-scale of geological features. Basically its about contrasting how long the planet has been around to our own human lifetimes and civilization. Many of the permanent geological features of the world have been around for millions of years. Now compare that to all of human history. It's barely a percent.
