  • Yes indeed if one wanted to he could. I have done this myself. Sometimes the appearence of the package is ugly, nearly covered with all kinds of stamps, but it works. If you have stamps that need used up, this would be one way to do it. If you take your package to the post office, they will most likely just put a generic, metered stamp on it.
  • If the package weighs more than one pound, you need to take it to the post office for them to accept. If you don't, it could be returned to you for security reasons. You can use the stamps if you wish, but the post office has to put their acceptance stamp on it when you bring it in person.
