Can someone please summarize the first two seasons of Lost? What happened? Was there a creature on the island? What was that metal thing they found in the ground with a hatch on it?

Nope there is no creature on the island. It is a mechanical device. Im not sure exactly what it does but neither does anyone else. The thing with the hatch in it was exactly what it sounds like. A hatch. In it there was a man who has been there for many years and when the got in the found him and he ran off. In there there is food,shower beds and many more stuff. An airplane crashes on a remote Pacific Island. The plane broke in two parts that land in two seperate locations. Most of the passangers survive. The Island has been used for years as a research facility by a group called Dharma. The researchers diguise themselves as a rough group of castaways called the "others", who seem intent on including the crash survivors into their cruel experiments. Each week the show is populated my numerous flashbacks into the lives of the characters that show that somehow, they are all connected to each other in the past.
