Replace the entire neck. there is so much tension in that area, that any other effort to repair it, would be in vain.

While John is correct about the tension in that area, repair would not be "in vain". There are repair methods if you are trying to keep this unit all original. The method used to repair a broken LP head is similar to the method used to construct many necks (most necks have a joint at the base of the headstock), though if it is a severe break, the headstock could possibly have to be replaced, negating the attempt to keep it all original. Warmoth makes some really nice replacement necks (I use them on a lot of my custom units) if you decide on replacement. If you are set on keeping it all original, contact a qualified luthier in your area. If you can't find one, e-mail me a pic (address in my profile) and I will give you my opinion.
