When I'm abroad, it's always in my pocket. At home, it's just kept in a drawer in my room.

I keep it on my dresser where I can see it, reminding me of how much I love to travel...! I'm ready to go in a heartbeat...! ;-)

I keep it in my travel bag which isn't that easy to find.

I keeep mine in a file cabinet in a folder labeled "passport" (duh) so if I travel I know where it is, and also If I croak my family could find it. Burglars (if my house was broken into) aren't as likey to go fishing in a file cabinet.Drawers where cash or jewelry might be,yes. Also, its a good idea to give a close family member who will NOT be traveling with you a photocopy and take a photocopy with you to keep in the suitcase back at the hotel. That way if you have it on your person while traveling and your'e pickpocketed or lose it you at least have the copy to take to the consolate.
