Depends on what you are trying to change. If they are abusive then I don't think it's being selfish to change them so that they aren't.

I would never want to change anyone. the thing that makes life so interesting is the difference we all have. Thats the real spice of life. Life in itself would be so boring if everyone was the same or acted the way you wanted them to.
