Lots and lots and lots of money with a very low population, means that every citizen get a big piece of the economic pie. I saw on TV that there is free veterinary surgery for all pets that anyone may have! The have the most advanced bird clinic in the whole world, and it is free for all citizens.....money buys almost everything!

I'm from Dubai and i can surely tell you that is because of his His Highest Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum the ruler of Dubai, he had a clear vision of the future and what he want Dubai to be, i don't think it’s just the money and oil, most of the countries on the Gulf have oil but they didn't use it like Dubai did :)

On the contrary to what most people believe Dubai does not have any oil at all and natural resources are not the main source of income. Dubai has developped so quickly due to the speedy adaptaion of times. After 9/11 many Arab business people left the USA and the Sheik of Dubai created an environment where it was eay to do business in the Arab Gulf. I fin the comparison between Hong Kong and Dubai very appropriate.
