Anyone familiar with antidepressants and what's a good type to take if you've never taken any before?

I recommend you see your doctor for advice. Ive only ever taken one, Cipralex. Worked wonders for me.

yes, some of the better ones are cymbalta for some people....not me...it made me sick. another is Effexor XR...but it too can cause high blood pressure...but its good. they have come out with a brand new one call pristique?? check on the spelling....but it is supposed to be replacing the Effexor XR...the XR is for it being timed released into the body. then there is Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Lexapro.... Zoloft and Wellbutrin taken together is like taking Celexa. They are all good drugs, but you need to go to your doctor and have him/her give you some samples to try so you can find the one that works the best for you, plus you will want to be monitored by your physician while on any of these medications in case of any types of reactions or side effects.
