  • it's the difference between a vertical jump and a horizontal jump from a run... ;-) In the wild, they can jump vertically up to 16ft. Domestically, not so high, as they do not run in the open to retain their jumping abilities... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger
  • i am only guessing but they are probably sedated enough and happy enough with a steady food supply
  • they are hoping the tiger didn't know they could jump that far or that they read the instruction manual.
  • They are reconsidering that in many areas. A tiger can jump 20-30 feet forward, but straight up it's about 16 feet. At least, that's what was on the news a few weeks back when a tiger jumped the wall and ate a teenage boy who had been teasing it.
