M People ( a Manchester based based UK band) sang a song called moving on up, but I've not seen the ad so I don't know if that's the song.

Its Yummy Bingham...she's a young artist from Queens, NY. You may know her from her only single, "Come Get It" with Jadakiss. The song was also featured in a Pontiac commercial.
