  • The internal "eye" is messed up. It may just be dusty. You can carefully take it apart and blow it out with duster, I have fixed game consoles that way that wouldn't read discs.
  • Couple things you should do before trying to fix it. 1 When you put a disk in listen carefully to see if the disk even spins. Usualy when this happens the motor that spins the disk stops turning. If a disk doesn,t turn then you need to take it apart don't send it to microsoft. Take it apart (if you need instructions on taking it apart E-Mail me @cab0803gun@yahoo.com) once taken apart you'll see a metal box type thing where the disk goes unplug cords from back of little box and take metal tape off the front. Take metal box apart so u can see the disk tray. Leave it open, Plug it back in, set a game in, and help it spin with your finger and Presto.( you might have to do this a couple times before you put it back together)
  • put frankly.... your system is fried.... sorry to be the one to tell you... let me guess... it'll play demos on your hard drive, dvd's, but no discs... the reason is, you may have left your 360 unattended and during that time... you aquired the red ring of death, which fried your systems chassey and mother board believe me, i know it happened to me... you also may have noticed the drastic price drop in all 360 models.... this is because they are phasing all the old models out with a lower price and are going to come out with newer models, in which that problem should be fixed. so it's up to you... buy a new one in a few months to a year, or fix it yourself, using one of the guides to fixing your 360 on this webpage... thankyou for listening ... goodbye. and good luck with your gaming problem. peace...
  • I had a system for a while that not only wouldn't read discs, it scratched the hell out of them too. We just got a new one, sorry mate, but that may be all you can do.
