because people with tattoos (and streotyping here) don't make if very far in life as far as they are concerned. Its a sign of going in the wrong direction i think.

Tatoos are permenent. They are associated with the lower class. A parent doesn't want to think that their child is reducing their chances to rise above the rest. Their heart is broken, so they get upset.

Because parents believe there children are beautiful just as they are... They don't want anything permanent, they want their children untouched and natural. I also think it has a lot to do with the impression a tattoo gives, the risks involved and the chance that someday the person might regret it. I have 2 small tattoos that I have had for many years and are only visible to a select few. And looking to the future, i cant imagine my children doing something like that to their beautiful bodies, It makes me sad just thinking about the possibility.
