Yes, I find it VERY hot to keep my hair down in the summertime. Especially when temperatures are very high! My hair is very long and super THICK too, so its almost like a coat on my back when its down... I just put it up in a pony tail to avoid sweating too much! Even though it still hangs down ;)

I usually get my hair cut very short for the hot weather so that the heat won't bother me.
