It appears that the tendon of one of your thigh muscles had been torn from its attachment on your shin bone. The detached muscle end contracts to form a visible stub on your knee. This could have been surgically repaired. But since your knee appears to be functioning just fine, your doctor probably thinks surgery is unnecessary. However, your right knee will never be as strong as your left due to this injury.
