Should countries with shortages of nurses encourage more men to enter the profession?

I would agree with anyone who encourages more men to get into the nursing profession. We need more male nurses in the US. Countries where females cannot properly attend male patients, males should certianly be encourged to take over nursing duties and nursing education. Health care is very important to a population and whatever means necessary to deliver it should be used.

Absolutely. I don't trust female nurses but have had good experiences with male nurses. I insist on having a male nurse.

Yes. I wish we could have had a male nurse to treat my husband after surgery. I wasn't too happy with any of the female nurses.

Actually when I was an O.R. Tech the hospital I worked at paid incentives and even paid more for male nurses than female just to have some guy nurses on staff for lifint of heavie rpatients and such, even then the ration of guys to girls was 1 to 10 I would guess. It seems there's such a stigma, that it's a female profession for some reason

Sure. In fact, even countries without nursing shortages should encourage men to enter the profession. Men have just as much to contribute as women.
